Legal procedures and other formalities to be followed in case of a death must be familiar to the undertaker who will have to receive required approvals etc for the funeral proceedings and other connected matters. He will need to be fully conscious of procedures to be followed for the purpose of collecting death certificates or insurance payments.

Finally, an undertaker must also know driving and must possess an appropriate driving license, as he may be required to drive vehicles such as hearses to transport the deceased.
