Motorcycles come in three types. There are the off road bikes, the street bikes and the dual purpose bikes. The off road bikes are racing bikes and not meant to be ridden on the roads. The street bikes are what people ride on the roads. They are further categorized into mopeds, cruisers and scooters amongst others. The dual purpose bikes are designed for both racing and normal street riding.
Automobile pollutions have become unbearable in many cities. Traffic snarls are a daily occurrence. This makes motorcycles a favorite amongst vehicles. It has a lower carbon emission. Its fuel efficiency is much higher than other vehicles that take to the road. Its smaller mass is the reason for its better fuel economy. Motorcycles emit lesser greenhouse gas as compared to cars. But its pollution level per mile is ten times and could even reach up to twenty times as compared to the pollution level of cars. Motorcycle emits nitrogen oxide. This is produced as a byproduct of combustion. Nitrogen oxide is a major component of smog. It is the lower efficiency of its catalytic converter that causes nitrogen oxide to be produced.
The market for motorcycles has been showing a steady increase. Though the global economy has shown a downturn, yet the global market for motorcycle show a growth of 6.5 percent. The increasing cost of fuel along with the slow down in the global economy contributes to this growth. Electric scooters too are showing increased sales. Gasoline is substituted with battery to run the electric scooters. It has a superior fuel economy though with lesser speed. It runs almost silently. Electric scooter becomes a good option with the increase in the price of gasoline. There is almost no air and noise pollution. It is expected that the battery technology will improve in the coming days. There are a number of electric scooters in the market. They include Vectrix VX-1, Eped Sport/City, E-Solex, ZAP Zapino, Razor E200S scooter, Yo Speed, Peugeot Scoot’Elec, EVT-4000e and Io-scooter, Ezip Electric Scooters.
Motorcycle sales are highest in the Asian countries of China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. Motorcycle owners are more than the other vehicle owners. Motorcycle owners are double the number of automobile owners in Taiwan. Registration of motorcycle increased by 50 percent in the United States. It is a common means of transport in the frontier towns of Latin America.
More and more people are now considering motorcycles important. It’s time for you to purchase one and look for the ones of excellent quality.

Should I Permit My Teen To Get A Motorcycle

As teens grow up, the possibility of soon having the ability to drive all alone is awfully exciting for them. However , it could be a complete nightmare for a parent. Many youths start asking for a motorcycle rather than a passenger car as this age approaches. Should you allow your teen to get a motorcycle? This may be a tough call to make and one that shouldn’t be made swiftly.
There are some advantages to permitting your teen to have a motorcycle. For one, they may only be in a position to have one other passenger with them. That is if you permit it. Some elders make the rule of no passengers for the 1st year. That is a personal call. Many passenger automobile accidents happen due to the vehicle being full of kids and that is a major distraction. They also will not be in a position to hide any alcohol on a bike as they can with a passenger automobile. Having been a teenager once ourselves we know this is a likely scenario in an auto.
For the most part, buying a used motorcycle for your teen will be cheaper than purchasing a second hand car for them. The insurance can also be less expensive too in several cases. The cost of gas that they will be burning up is also going to be significantly less than will a car.
You’re going to be forced to take a truthful look at how responsible your teen is. For those that have authorized their teenager to ride on and operate off road motorcycles for ages then the issue will not be as huge. This is as you know they’re capable of handling the equipment and understand how to properly operate it. If your teen has a desire to go faster or is a risk taker you’ll need to be more wary with this call. You will also have the issue of how your teen is going to find a way around when the weather is cold or too bad to operate a motorcycle in. Is your teen prepared to take a motorbike safety course? If they are not ready to give up one weekend to be involved in such an activity, do you actually want to turn them loose with such a machine? Even with no regard for the power behind a selected model of bike, it is still a bike they’ll be riding with other cars on the road.
Once you have discusses the rules and provisions of your permitting your teen to get a bike, you will have a more clear picture of what your teenager is willing to do for it. If they are ready to acknowledge your rules then you must trust them to make the correct decisions. It is a good idea to put the concluded terms in writing as well as the consequences for breaking them. This way everyone is clear on what is needed from them about this call.

As anyone who has ever lived in or visited Oregon can attest to, this is one of the most beautiful states in the country and ideal for biking. The terrain is very diverse and the biking trails in Oregon take you through breathtaking scenery and challenge your skills no matter what level you are. He are some of the popular Oregon biking trails:
For a leisurely family ride along the seaside, go to Cannon Beach Trail in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Here you will find flat ground that is a five miles out and back trail. Some of this trail is on pavement and some on packed sand. Have fun in the sunshine and cool off by the sea. On your journey, you will pass Haystack Rock, which is a wildlife sanctuary that houses puffins, gulls and other ocean birds.
Advanced riders can try the Ashland Watershed Trail. This trail is a 25-mile loop that is close to Ashland that only advanced riders should attempt because there is a steep climb at first and a quick descent at the end. The setting is green and shady year round and the views are breathtaking so make sure to get to an outcropping where you can pause and view the nearby mountains and into the valley below.
Another technically demanding trail for advanced bikers is the forty-two mile loop at Gold Beach known as the Lower Rogue River Trail. This one runs through a rainforest and provides beautiful scenery on a demanding trail. You will deal with steep climbs, many creek crossings, roots, rocks, narrow cliffs, and overgrowth. At the half way point on this trail you can opt to take a paved and gravel return trip if you don’t want to tackle the extreme trail on the return loop.
Champoeg State Park by Butteville is an awesome place to take the family biking. There, you will even see that a portion of the bike trail is reserved for teaching youngsters about bike safety and the rules of biking. Much of the trails are easy enough for any rider to tackle, however there is one part on the eastern part of the park that has a steep climb. These trails are out, back, and go for nearly eight miles.
Mary’s Peak near Corvalis is a thirteen mile loop trail that is best suited towards advanced bikers. This trail reaches an elevation of nearly 4100 feet. From here you can see the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Cascades on the other. The climb to the top is worth it to behold this sweeping vista. The climb is steep, strenuous and rocky in places so the trail is dangerous when wet.
Mitchell Road located in Post Canyon is a short six-mile loop trail that provides an intense workout. The trail goes through the Hood River County Forest where you can see beautiful wooded scenery and view of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and the Columbia River Gorge. The trail is made up of part dirt, part gravel and slick rock in some parts. This is a physically strenuous trail, with technical parts that poses a good challenge for riders.
Biking trails range in the hundreds in Oregon, so you will certainly find a great one to fit your skill level. Oregon is a biking heaven because there is so much difference in the terrain in such a short distance.
