Debt Advice: How Do Debt Management Plans Work?

November 18, 2011 by

The best thing to do, if you are having problems repaying your debt, is to contact a company which is offering free debt advice. The expert advice on debt that they give you should help you out of your situation in the best possible way. One of the things they might present to you is a debt management plan, so we’ll be going through what they are here.

Debt Management Plans Explained

A debt management plan is an informal arrangement which is negotiated with your creditors on your behalf in order to reduce your monthly payments to a manageable amount. There is no obligation for them to accept this but they usually will as their only other option is going to be to take legal action which does not guarantee to get them anything better.

You can also expect that the charges and higher interest rates that you have been accumulating will either be frozen or reduced. This is something that the debt advisers that you use to negotiate for you should be able to accomplish. In a sense then, you’re also getting the amount that you owe reduced.

The way that a debt management plan is structured is also very useful. That’s because you are only going to have to make a single payment each month, instead of having to make lots of payments, one to each of your creditors. The single payment goes to the debt advice company you chose to negotiate for you, and then they will handle the distribution of it to your creditors.

However since this is an informal arrangement, your creditors are not guaranteed to accept it. They may continue to demand the full amount and if you don’t pay then they will take legal action. If that is the case then you might go for an IVA instead, in which case you only need 75% of creditors to agree for them all to be bound to it.

County Court Judgements

Usually though your creditors will be willing to enter in to an informal arrangement because the legal action that they can take is not going to get them anything better. At least not at first. So if they think that you will keep up with the payments that you are offering they will probably accept that as an informal arrangement.

When you do contact a company for free debt advice, one of the things that they are going to be able to tell you is the legal action which your creditors can take if they declare your unsecured debt in default. This is useful to understand so that you know the position that your creditors are in as well.

When a creditor decides that they want to take legal action to recover the debt that you owe the first thing that they are going to do is issue a Default Notice. This informs you of the action that you can expect them to take if you don’t fulfil certain conditions. They are probably going to be paying off all of the debt you owe, in a time frame of 1-2 weeks.

If you do not repay all of the debt in the time frame which they have laid down they can then petition the court for a County Court Judgement to be issued against you. However in the first instance this will only tell you to pay what you can afford from your disposable income. It’s only if you don’t keep up with those repayments that further action, such as having bailiffs deployed, can be taken.

That is why creditors will often agree to a debt management plan. Because if you are already offering all that they would receive from a CCJ, at least at first, then most will be willing to give that a try.

Techniques On Recognizing Legit Hyips

February 4, 2011 by

Hyip is an acronym for High Yield Investment Program. Legit hyips stands for legitimate High Yield Investment Programs. It is necessary to make this distinction because so many investment sites are fraudulent.

Because they offer higher returns than normal investment opportunities, they are considered by many to be quick rich schemes. Naturally, any such market attracts those whose only aim is to exploit the gullible and unwary. As a result, it is estimated that the vast majority of such schemes are scams, and any profit made by an investor is usually at the expense of someone else.

Anyone who is prepared to invest in hyips must accept that they are risky, and even legitimate ones may offer a return which seems too good to be true. However, this alone does not make it a scam. It is this which makes legit hyips difficult to spot

To track down the sound investments, you need a good detective who you can trust. And that person is you, because you are the only one who can give yourself the protection you need. A good place to begin is by asking the scheme’s operator about referrals, and contacting other investors

Before proceeding, examine the website that’s urging you to part with your money. It is up to you to find out as many details as you can about the owners, their qualifications, experience and past record. You should also press for such things as a business address and contacts who can advise you in the case of difficulty. Do not be afraid to make a nuisance of yourself, and do not stop asking until you like what you hear.

Another aspect of the website worth exploring is the content and style. If is gives you a lot of genuine information, then it is probably OK, but if it looks vague and unprofessional, you are probably wise to leave it alone.

Being your own Sherlock Holmes is without doubt the best way to satisfy yourself as to the legitimacy of any future investment. Scammers will prevaricate, while honest owners will be forthcoming and answer you queries with pleasure.

Some investors end up investing in a HYIP that had long been classified as a scam. This is really frustrating and can happen to anyone, it’s always good to keep up with the most recent Hyip News and scam alerts.

Can You Truly Benefit From Debt Consolidation?

A lot of people have been saying that they don’t have to worry about having debts because what we call debt consolidation loans exist. Having a bad credit rating isn’t a big deal for some, and this is because they believe that debt consolidation is there to answer all their troubles. They rely on that kind of thought, and they feel that they don’t have to worry about it.

It is really easy to take advantage of debt consolidation loans. Many lenders are available to render their services. They offer financing so that you can pay for your debts. If you want to have a loan but you don’t have something to present as collateral, it is not going to be much of a problem because they aren’t so strict about collateral. These companies are good at collecting their payments, even if you don’t have collateral, they know other approaches on how to make you pay them. Today, having bad credit is not much of a big deal, especially since a lot of people are experiencing losses due to the global financial crisis. Large-scale and small-scale lending companies are benefiting from this scenario. They take advantage of the dire situation that a lot of people are in, and that’s why a lot of debt settlement schemes are being offered.

Even though bad credit ratings and debts are rampant, there are still limits on how much debt you can have. Having a debt consolidation loan isn’t always the best solution, especially if you owe a lot of creditors a considerable amount of money. If you have assets that are moveable or immoveable which are going to be put on the line with your debt consolidation loan, they will surely be repossessed if you do not meet your obligations on time. If you have an unsecured debt consolidation loan wherein there is no collateral involved, if you will not be able to settle them on time, you will still answer to certain legalities like court proceedings.

Nowadays, a lot of people are becoming knowledgeable of the disadvantages of getting debt consolidation loans. More and more people are looking for better means of settling their debts without resorting to having more loans. The reason is that if you have bad credit and you end up borrowing money to pay them, then the interest on top of your existing debts will just make your burden heavier.

What are we supposed to do in these types of situations, then? One good option for you to pay your financial debts is by seeking the assistance of a debt management agency. Through a debt management agency, you will be able to fix all the obligations you have with your creditors. You don’t need to apply for a loan when enrolling for a debt management plan, thus, preventing you from acquiring additional debts. With their help, you don’t need the resources of other lending companies and you will be able to pay all of your debts by making the most out of your money. You can effortlessly acquire the knowledge and discipline on how to manage your finances, especially in dealing with your debts. With the backing of a debt management specialist, you can control your expenditure, thus, making things better.

There are lots of positive changes that you can achieve through debt management. Generally speaking, you can transform from having a bad credit rating into having a good credit rating when you go for one. Although at first you may feel that it is a slow approach, it is by far more practical than going for other bad credit loan options.

A Recent Graduate’s Guide To Budgeting

If you thought paying for college was a challenge, wait until you discover the joys of making ends meet on an entry level salary. While you may not find yourself to be financially comfortable for a few years, you can start off on the right foot by setting a budget as soon as you negotiate your salary of your first post-college job. Make sure that you sharpen your pencil (and get rid of all luxuries) if you find that you won’t have any fun money left after meeting your obligations. The next steps are below:

1. Never pay bills after the due date. There are fees and interest charges attached to balances when you miss your due date by even a couple days. What’s more, your almighty credit report could take a hit as well. If you’re not sure why a respectable credit rating is important, try getting a car loan or a lease on an apartment without one. If your credit score is good, you’ll likely see better rates for car insurance and loans, too.

2. Don’t get carried away with credit cards. While you may be old enough to obtain a credit card without a co-signer, you need to demonstrate true restraint if you don’t want to wind up over your head in debt. It’s a good idea to accept a credit card as a way to start building a positive credit history, but be sure to pay the full balance every month. You’ll avoid paying interest and won’t find yourself buying more than you can afford. Using a credit card for online or large item purchases is smart because you can dispute the purchase if something goes wrong, but don’t let yourself linger in paying off the balance.

3. Start the habit of saving right away. You’ll be surprised how quickly you wake up and find yourself halfway to retirement. Honestly! Start out small and increase your savings with every pay raise. Ask your boss about the company savings plan and let your savings grow that way, too. In most cases the money is matched by your employer so the balance grows quicker.

4. Understand the pitfalls of using a debit card. While it may look like a credit card, a debit card functions exactly like a check does. The money you spend comes directly out of your account within a day or two. What happens if you aren’t diligent about the amount in your account and how much you are spending? You overdraw your account and accrue some nasty fees from your bank. If you have spent even a dollar more than you have, you could be deducted up to $40 in overdraft fees. The lesson here is to keep track of your spending so this never happens.

Independence, financial and otherwise, is what you’ve worked so hard for all these years. Protect your identity by keeping your social security number to yourself and shred your mail with financial account numbers on them. Spend only what you have and push yourself to save along the way. It isn’t always easy to be financially responsible, but it is always rewarding.

When A Banker Is In Debt This Is What They Do…

Debts Consolidation in Toronto Debt consolidation involves borrowing money to pay off high interest debt to lower the total amount you pay on your debts each month. It involves using new debt to pay off existing debt.

A constant worry for a debtor who is behind in payments is the fear of debt collection agencies. Debt consolidation in Toronto is seen as one of the option for managing debts when one owe too much to their creditors.

When you are in the process of consolidating your debts, you use credit with a lower interest rates in order to pay off multiple debts with multiple creditors, and you exchange the payment management as well, from multiple monthly payments to creditors to a single monthly payment to one creditor.

The following criteria needs to be applied n order to achieve the benefits of the Debt Consolidation process:

- The interest rate for the new loan should be lower than the interest of the loans you are trying to consolidate. For example, lets say you have a loan with your cards that have these rates 27%, 21%, and 19%. Lets say you can transfer the total of the previous debts into a credit card with a 17% annual rate or get a bank loan with 12% annual interest rate and use it to pay off the credit card debt, you improve your situation.

- You lower the total amount of money you have to pay on your debts each month.

- You start paying your debts as fast as you can. As long as you have saved some money because you are paying a debt with less interest rate, this money you saved apply it to keep decreasing the principal (and more, if possible) to pay off the new debt.

- Your biggest commitment should be not to take another loan until you have payed off the debt you consolidated. That you pay less in on your debts amount is not the only benefit from the debt consolidation; Other great advantage is that by juggling fewer payment due dates, you will be able to re pay your outstanding bills easily. If you pay on time you will have less late fee charges and less damage to your credit history.

You can consolidate your debts in Toronto in several ways:

- Transferring high-rate credit card debt to a credit card with a lower interest rate – Getting a bank loan – Borrowing against your whole life insurance policy – Borrowing from your retirement account – Turning to a company that claims to offer assistance in solving debt problems. Such companies may offer debt consolidation loans, debts counseling, or debt reorganization plans that are “guaranteed” to stop creditors’ collection efforts.

The process of knowing how and when to consolidate your debt in Toronto can be quite confusing. Talking to a professional such as a CPA or a financial advisor may seem like a good idea since they have a better insight about these types of movements, Do not hesitate to contact a professional in case you are in debt. Otherwise, you may make an expensive mistake.

Be sure you understand that services the debt management company provides and what they will cost you. Such loans looks like great hassle eradicator, but it can cause more problems than it solves if you are not careful.

What Option Traders Don’t Tell Their Wives

Earlier, I had a motivating talk with an option’s investor who is still looking for for the key strategy to earning constant returns with option investing. He understood several things which were so well-known to me also.

The topic that really hit home for me was when he mentioned “Non-directional option investing doesn’t mean we should generate return on investment in each and every direction. It means that we generate a profit if the asset doesn’t move in any direction. In a few words, it’s actually a directional strategy, sideways.” This is absolutely the truth, and most investing programs say that it’s easy to manufacture a profit with options simply because we can generate money for each and every direction. This is true in some viewpoints and false in others.

Those of you trading Iron Condors know what I am talking about; especially if you are trading the Condors that most courses and books teach. If you are trading this strategy in 2009, you probably aren’t making anything. The reason being that the Iron Condor is just as directional as most option trades only that its direction is sideways. For some, it’s just as hard to predict a sideways move as it is up or down.

I have had many calls over the years from people losing huge chunks of their accounts trading credit spreads and condors. They all say the same thing… “I was doing great for several months, and then all the sudden I lost nearly my whole account in one day.” I have heard this story over and over again.

This is exactly why I don’t teach traditional Condors and Credit Spreads. If you are a few days from expiration, and the RUT is right at your short strike, then you are trading the way most people trade this strategy, and soon you’ll be telling the same story to your best friend, and you’ll be hiding the truth from your wife! You laugh now, but you won’t be when it happens to you. Another problem with this style of trading is that the stress level is so high that it really ruins your life.

Anyway, to deal with this problem San Jose Options Mentoring has redesigned Iron Condors and Credit Spreads. We have a different technique which gives the underlying much more wiggle room, lowering our stress level and keeping us out of dangerous situations. Remember, the less you have to adjust your condor, the better off you will be in most cases.

Our safer method of trading speaks for itself, but we have also developed another method that is very exciting to share with you. For most option strategies we trade, we now have a way to lock-in the profits and stay in the trade to make more. This is a great technique to use as an investor.

Also, when we do have a trade go against us, well, we have ways to get a free trade from it. This is another important technique that we teach to our students. While many traders exit with a loss or never exit and sustain a huge loss, we exit and get a free bonus trade that can always lead to returns at a later date.

So there you have it! Whether it’s a winning trade or a loser, we have really developed some nice trading tactics that can improve your personal trading immensely.
